FAQS
What is the mission of Constellations: Grow and Play™?
Our mission is to provide compassionate, individualized care for children with autism using a child-led, play-based approach to ABA therapy. We believe every child deserves to be supported in an environment where they feel safe, seen, and empowered to thrive. Therapy at Constellations is designed to be a joyful experience, one that nurtures growth, builds confidence, and celebrates each child’s unique strengths.
Why was Constellations founded?
Constellations: Grow and Play was created from a deep belief that there is a better, more affirming way to support neurodivergent children than traditional ABA. As a BCBA and clinician, our founder witnessed firsthand the gaps in care and the harm that can come from approaches rooted in compliance rather than connection.
She knew it could be different. So she built something better.
At Constellations, therapy is grounded in joy, curiosity, and respect. We center play, honor each child’s unique strengths and needs, and walk alongside families as active, empowered partners. This is a space where children are free to explore, grow, and thrive at their own pace, where families feel truly seen and supported, and where care is guided by both evidence and empathy.
What makes your approach different from other autism therapy centers?
We believe in meeting children where they are — emotionally, developmentally, and personally. Unlike traditional models that may feel overly clinical, our play-based ABA therapy focuses on joy, trust, and connection. Sessions are designed to follow the child’s lead while integrating individualized learning goals. We also emphasize strong collaboration with parents and caregivers, making them part of the therapeutic journey every step of the way.
What impact do you hope to make through your services?
Our goal is to help every child develop lifelong skills in a way that’s uplifting and engaging. We aim to:
Foster communication, confidence, and independence
Reduce challenging behaviors in gentle, constructive ways
Help families build stronger bonds with their children
Create a welcoming, inclusive community for families on the autism journey
Ultimately, we want children to leave each session feeling happy, understood, and proud of themselves.
How do your services support children and families?
We provide holistic support that includes:
Personalized ABA therapy sessions that match your child’s strengths, interests, and goals
Parent training and coaching, so you feel confident supporting your child at home
Social skill development, helping your child interact and build relationships
Progress tracking and regular updates, so you always know how your child is doing
We treat each family as part of our team, recognizing that real progress happens when home and therapy are connected.
What is ABA therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on understanding and improving meaningful behaviors. It helps children:
Communicate more effectively
Develop social and life skills
Build attention, focus, and emotional regulation
Learn through positive reinforcement
At Constellations, we practice modern, compassionate ABA — always playful, never pushy. We ensure your child feels comfortable and engaged throughout their therapy experience.
What age groups do you work with?
We specialize in working with young children, typically from ages 2 to 10. Early intervention is a key focus, but we also offer continued support for children in early elementary years who are building skills in communication, social interaction, and school readiness.
